I love participating in challenges. They help me focus and try books and authors I wouldn’t have otherwise. In 2009 I completed all 4 of my challenges. This year? Not so much. Having many months of morning sickness and then the arrival of little Gage 10 weeks ago have forced me to prioritize and I’m okay with that.
I only completed one challenge this year – The New Authors challenge where I committed to read 35 new to me authors. My favorite is Beth Hoffman, author of Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt, because not only did I love her debut novel, but she is a super nice person, an inspiring speaker and she actually interacts with the book blogging community. Three cheers for Beth.
I failed the A-Z Challenge this year and plan to try again in 2011. I also failed The RYOB Challenge where I had you all vote for 50 of the books I’d read this year. I have 14 left and will be reading them in 2011. You guys really picked some winners for me, you chose 4 of my top 5 reads this year! I failed the States challenge and Color challenge and will try again in 2011. I also failed the Short Story and 100 mile fitness challenges.
I’ll be a bit choosier in my 2011 challenges. Unless I can start counting board and cloth books 🙂

I still think you did marvelously for having finished any! Congrats. I also failed on the A-Z Challenge. I’m not even going to do a challenge this year other than read what I already own! Being a new mom and a mom period is tough work! Congrats again and good luck this next year as well.
Are you telling me this mothering thing doesn’t get any easier?!
I wish! But there always seems to be something new to deal with with each age!!! Someone told me that by the time my kid is 8 I might start getting a good night’s sleep! Yikes…I’ve got a few years to go…Oh, and thanks for sharing your Sundays with Gage! They are great.
Well I think you did a fabulous job! I didn’t do that good but there’s always next year. I’ll have to check out the A-Z Challenge or the new author one i haven’t seen that one yet.
Natalie :0)
You did well, Stacy!
And wow, you must have put in lots of efforts for this post!
Nah. I’ve been keeping it up to date on a page at the top of my blog and I just copied and pasted it. I don’t have this much time right now!
I think you did awesome! You have read so MANY books 🙂
I think you did remarkable with all of these challenges, especially getting ready with the arrival of Gage and then of course his finally being here Yay! which I might add made my 2010 much brighter seeing his beautiful face 😀
Great job Stacy – on the books. Great job on your new addition as well. I agree that 2011 will probably be the year you become an expert on board books.
Excellent work my friend! Impressive. You inspire me to do better in 2011.
