Teaser Tuesday – The Appeal

teasertuesdays31Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following: Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!). Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Mr. Bintz was about forty years old, short and thin, intense, with the smugness that Yankees can’t help but exude when they venture into decaying towns of the Deep South.

How could anyone live like this? their smirks seemed to ask.

Chapter 9 of The Appeal by John Grisham

It has been a while since I read anything by Grisham. It seemed for a while as though everything he wrote was almost instantly adapted for film. Is this one of his better books?

I haven’t read a lot of Grisham’s courtroom stuff, I’ve only seen the movies. This is more political, which I love. It’s good so far.

  2. fleurfisher says:

Interesting. I haven’t read John Grisham’s last couple of books, and now I’m thinking maybe it’s time to catch up…

  3. Thoughts of Joy says:

Ahhh . . . Grisham! Even though I don’t think all his books are stellar, I am a huge fan. Can’t wait for the new one coming out in November.

P.S. You know I was just teasing you about the Go Bucks shoes, right?

  4. Heather says:

I bought this one when it first came out and read the first chapter, but it didn’t pull me in so I stopped. It’s still sitting on my shelf waiting to be read…one day!
