I watched 50 movies this year, that’s up from 41 last year and doesn’t even include the 30 documentaries that Jason and I watched last January.
I wrote 5 Book Vs. Movie posts (The Girl on the Train, Tuck Everlasting, Northanger Abbey, Me Before You, And Then There Were None)
My second most popular post of the year was Book Vs. Movie And Then There Were None.
I wrote about 3 of my Top 100 Movies (17-Shawshank Redemption, 89-Catch and Release, 90-Desk Set)
We saw more movies at the theater than in years past with 20.
The oldest movie I watched was It Happened One Night, 1934
My favorite animated movie was Captain Underpants.
Newest crush is Matthias Schoenaerts (Far From the Maddening Crowd)
Cutest Couple- Will & Louisa (Me Before You)
My most watched actor was Keanu Reeves with 3 movies (To the Bone, Brotherhood of Justice, John Wick 2)
My most watched actress was a 3 way tie with 2 movie a piece –Anna Kendrick (Trolls, Drinking Buddies), Janelle Monae (Moonlight, Hidden Figures), Reese Witherspoon (Home Again, Sing)
Most despised movie of the year – Mother!
I continued my 5 Word Movie Reviews with $ for Charity and in April gave $100 to the American Red Cross, as Tony requested. Keep adding to my reviews and maybe you can choose the next charity!
My 5 favorite movies this year
The Big Sick, 2017. Humor and heart in a perfect combination.
Wonder, 2017. Such a heartwarming story of acceptance.
Room, 2015. So disturbing, but full of love between a mother and son.
Hidden Figures, 2016. Trailblazing women for the win.
Dunkirk, 2017. Not your typical war movie.
What were your favorite movies this year?
I saw all 5 of your favorite movies. I totally agree on Hidden Figures (1 of top 2), The Big Sick (the other one in the top 2) and Wonder.
You are better film critic than me so I’m glad we agree 🙂
I’m not a movie watcher, I guess. My husband is an avid netflix movie watcher though. His number of movies watched this year probably equals my books read number (130+). I do plan to watch Wonder, though. I need a heartwarming movie.
Wonder is a great movie. I’m making the book my first read for 2018 🙂
I saw all of those except Dunkirk. I loved the 4 I saw so I guess I need to seek it out.
Jason was on board with all my pics but he would have chosen Get Out over Dunkirk.
The Big Sick was one of my favorites this year too! I always love the way you present your end-of-the-year stats! I hope you don’t mind if I borrow a bit of your layout to write my post about my end of year stats!
Borrow away 🙂 I love doing the stats at the end of the year!
The Big Sick: funny and truly heart-warming romance.
Hidden Figures: Loved seeing these women soar!
Room: Brilliant acting by all, shattering.
We haven’t seen very many movies the latter part of this year, though we did see Murder on the Orient Express. I’m still recovering from the ‘mustache’. LOL
Hoping you, Jason, and Gage have a very Happy New Year! I’m going to be back to blogging tomorrow. 🙂
Hip hip hooray!! You’ve been missed Kay!
Glad you enjoyed Wonder and Hidden Figures. I want to see Room. Dunkirk was good but not my kind of movie. I just posted the movies I saw in 2017 – first year keeping track.
Happy New Year Stacy.
So many great ones. I watched Room but didn’t read it, I think I should now. I want to watch Hidden Figures also. I didn’t realize there was a movie for And Then There were None, I’m intrigued. And I loved the couple in Me Before You also. Happy New Year Stacy.
