Feature Presentation…MONDAY MOVIE MEME
This week’s movie topic is all about The Worst Movie You’ve Ever Seen…
Visit the Bumbles for more bed movie selections.
These three movies are generally considered classics by most, but I could not stand them. I spent at least half of each movie complaining about how terrible it was. I saw all of these many years ago, so I don’t know if I’d feel differently now, but I don’t plan on finding out! Please don’t hate me if I’m disparaging a favorite of yours.
1. The English Patient (1996) This was far too long. I felt like Elaine in Seinfeld when she was fired because she confessed to Mr. Peterman that she hated the movie.
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Actually thought I was going to like this one, but somehow missed the point of it and why it is considered so great. I’m sure one of you will tell me. Please, tell me!
3. Amadeus (1984) This is another one I thought was too long. Don’t remember anything else about it. This is the one that I might possibly see again because, while I remember hating it, I don’t really remember why.
So, what about you? Is there a movie that you hated and everyone else loved? Care to confess?

I loved Amadeus, but totally agree with you on 2001. My husband and son love it though, and watch it over and over again. My son says you need to read the book to totally understand the movie.
I really liked all of these films. Maybe you liked the film I hated.
I have never watched any of these for pretty much the same reasons you stated…after watching Seinfeld and how Elaine hated it so much I figured why bother!! 😀
I know I don’t wan to watch any of these.
Haha – I loved that Elaine said aloud what everyone else was too afraid to admit ;0)
I loved English Patient the book but haven’t watch the movie. Not quite a movie person, me…
Oh I loved the English Patient. LOL. We would have had fun watching the movie together with your grumbles and my sighs. (I don’t sigh. I’m not that gushy.)
The first time I watched the English Patient years ago I thought I liked it, enough to buy the dvd anyway. Then I watched it again and wanted to die of boredom LOL
Haven’t seen the other two.
I found Amadeus long too. Kaye—the road goes ever ever on
I hated Taxi Driver! What the hell was he so mad about? Just, ugh.
I think we watched Amadeus at school, so I probably wouldn’t have hated it because – woo, not having to do schoolwork!
English Patient was definitely too long. Can’t say I hated it, but never wanted to watch it again.
I haven’t seen 2001 – I feel like I should, but my husband has dissuaded me, basically because of similar reasons to yours.
Actually, one movie that my husband and I hate that was ranked one of the AFI’s top funniest ever is Harold and Maude. What the hell? Neither character is likeable, the kid’s actually an ass-hat, and it’s both trippy and morbid. Bleagh.
I’m with you on The English Patient. There was about 40 minutes that were OK and the rest were unbearable. I’m with you and Elaine too.
