Feature Presentation…MONDAY MOVIE MEME
This week’s movie topic is all about Time Travel…
Check out the Bumbles for other blogger lists.
I enjoy good time travel movie. Sometimes I don’t really understand how the ‘travel’ is working, but if the movie is fun it doesn’t matter. Here are a few of my favorites…
1. Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) – Totally excellent, Dude! Makes me want to see the Wyld Stallyons again 🙂 And Keanu, of course.
2. Back to the Future (1985) – One of my husband’s favorite movies, so I’ve seen it more times than I wanted to, but it is a fun movie. Crazy Doc was my favorite.
3. Lake House (2006) – This one made little to no sense to me as far as how the time travel worked, but I still fell in love with Sandra and Keanu.
4. Kate & Leopold (2001) – Romantic fantasy with Hugh Jackman as the 19th century Duke. Yum.
5. Deja Vu (2006) – Denzel tries to save over 500 people from an explosion. Interesting New Orleans thriller.
Do you have a time travel favorite? Tell us 🙂
Back to the Future is one of my all time favorites also! I agree with you about the Lake House. It was a very odd movie. Another one that didn’t make sense to me was Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeves. The timelines did not seem to coincide with me so by the time the movie was over I was just annoyed with it.
I’ve never seen Somewhere in Time. Maybe someday.
I really enjoyed Lake House but I had to see it twice before I got it. I’ve seen it a couple of times since then and can now just enjoy it.
Hmm. Maybe you can explain it to me 🙂
Well, you know how we are about Sandy, and I really thought she and Keanu had some chemistry going on there. I need to watch it again.
Loved Kate & Leopold…Meg Ryan is always a delight.
I wish they would make a movie or mini-series from the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon. Now that would be awesome.
I think Sandy never looked better than she did in The Lake House. Kate & Leopold was on a cable channel this morning and I had to watch for a bit 🙂
Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Talk about gut wrenching and just….ah!
I will have to watch it one of these days!
Back the the Future is the perfect pick! I love that movie!
It’s a very charming family film. I don’t think I’ve seen them all, but I really liked the first one.
Bill and Ted are two of my favorite characters; Excellent Adventure was just such a fun and entertaining movie!
I do really need to watch it again! Glad a movie buff like you loves it too 🙂
You know – I thought I was Denzel’s biggest fan, but I realize I have only seen a tiny portion of his work. I have not even heard of this one. I need to arrange a Denzel movie marathon. Do you think he’d stop by to host it? Mmmmmm.
If you promised a live vlog about it he might 🙂 I’d watch (if I wasn’t invited that is!).
Kate and Leopold is such a cute movie. Have you seen ‘Before you say I do’. It is a romantic comedy on time travel. It isn’t very good but it’s decent enough.
I’ve never heard of that one. I’ll add it to my movie list.
I assume we’re not counting Groundhog Day, so I’ll go with 12 Monkeys.
12 Monkeys was the first movie Jason and I saw together. Not sure I was paying enough attention to get it! Good to see you 🙂
I’m joining in for Somewhere in Time – so haunting! And Lake House, boy did I cry in that one. Always during the same scene towards the end.
Somewhere in Time was showing on one of our movie channels Monday night and now it’s waiting for me on the DVR 🙂
I love the dance scene in Lake House. So romantic (sigh).
I loved 1,3, and 4 too. Have you ever watched Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour?? Wonderful movie and it was shot here in Michigan on Mackinac Island.
See last comment. I didn’t know it was filmed on Mackinac. We lived in Michigan for 2 years and I can’t believe we never made a trip there!
I totally forgot about De je vu–I loved that one. Denzel washington is one of my favorite actors. I liked many of the same movies that you listed
I liked the movie because it was confusing enough to be interesting but not too far fetched to be silly.
I love Back to the Future, but really how can you go wrong with Michael J Fox.
Do pick-up Every Last Cuckoo-I adored it. I have just given it away or I would send it to you.
