WOW, nice year and a good ration of FIC/NF as well as audios too. The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek is on our book group list for 2021. I’m curious home similar it might be to Giver of Stars which made my top 10. (I read the controversy.) Happy 2021 to you and your family Stacy

You read some really good books it sounds like and also took on the challenge of doing homeschooling. A big year indeed. Your percentage of fiction to non-fiction is very interesting. I always think I want to read more non-fiction, but when the time comes I usually turn to made-up stories instead. Ah well. Right now, life is complicated enough. Hope you guys have a very Happy New Year!

The Starless Sea really does have a lovely cover. I need to make time to read that one. I read another of Glennon Doyle’s books quite a while ago. Carry On, Warrior, I believe it was. The Knife of Never Letting Go. I have so much love for that book. I’d like to read The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.

My stats and favorites will go up next week sometime, I think. It was certainly a different kind of reading year this year, but it some ways it also was the same.

I hope you have a peace-filled, joyous and healthy New Year, Stacy.

I do want to get to Starless Sea as well. So pretty. I’ve had a couple of friends rave about Untamed. Maybe I’ll put it on my list this year. Knife of Never Letting Go…I got too emotional reading it. I literally have less than a 100 pages to go but when a certain character dies I kind of lost it and haven’t picked it back up but I need to! My goal is to finish the series this year.

Did that Harlan Coben book get turned into a series? It sounds familiar…I’ve enjoyed all of his adaptations but haven’t actually read one of his books. I should change that. Looks like you read some good ones this year!

I know that character of which you speak. I. WAS. A. MESS. I had to walk away. When I came back I started crying (again) and had to put it down for a bit. Thankfully there was none of that in the second book. And the Netflix series airs this month! This Coben isn’t on screen yet, although he promises to write more stories about the main character – who I loved.

  5. Tea Time with Marce says:

Great list and stats. Happy 2021 Stacy. Its been a long time, almost 2 years but it is Marce from Tea Time with Marce. I do enjoy a good Harlan Coben. I gave Untamed a 4 star but understand why many love it. I’m hoping to start blogging and keeping better records of my reads again. Happy New Year

I love these year-end summaries! I’ve been meaning to get Starless Sea since I loved The Night Circus. I just need to decide whether to go with the audio or print edition. And, thanks to your review, I plan to get Untamed.

  7. The Many Thoughts of a Reader says:

How is the Kinsey series treating you? I had to stop early on because I just couldn’t handle some of the outdatedness of it. I wouldn’t mind getting back into it but ya know so many books, so little time! Not sure if you’ve read Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series, but you may enjoy it. Some of my favorites read last year were Caste by Isabel Wilkerson, Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemheinhart, The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes and Anxious People by Fredrick Backman.
