This Week – Snow in May

Fave pic  PRUH1906 Our backyard last Sunday.

Highlights of the week   Gage had a very busy calendar for Friday.  Google chats with his reading group, math group, and homeroom class with a Zoom Lego camp class squeezed in there somewhere.  And then we had Grandma over for dinner.  His bedtime was an hour ago but I still hear him running around upstairs so he’s still flying high.

We got some new, much needed, deck furniture a few days ago.  Now if only it would warm up so we could use it.

A neighbor misses our library and reached out to see if I had any books she could read.   Who among us could resist spending happy time scouring our shelves for just the right thing?  Honestly, I have loaned out and mailed out so many books in the last month or so that I’m actually running low!  The horror!

Why?  So, we had snow in May.  In. May.  I just can’t.  Honestly, the sunny days outside in the yard are the only thing making this lockdown somewhat normal and today the snow.  Maybe tomorrow and Sunday too.  It’s too depressing to even talk about anymore.

It’s cool here for May but there’s no chance of snow.

A friend asked to “borrow” a book. I told her she could have it on the condition that she take a whole bag full.

We had flurries on Friday. Love the sunset pic! I hope the temps warm up so you can enjoy your new furniture while watching more sunsets. Happy Mothers Day!

Snow seems a little much for May, but what do I know? I’m just trying to enjoy the cool mornings that we mostly having still and will be sad to see them go. Summers are not fun or cool or non-humid. Ha! Take care and hope you have a good week, Stacy!

I hope you will be able to enjoy your deck furniture soon too. I can’t believe you got snow in May. I hope for your sake it doesn’t last. I hope you enjoy your current reading! Have a great week, Stacy. Stay safe and well.

Snow in May! Wow. It went up into the high 80s last week. I’m hopeful that, like most viruses, this virus will hate high temperatures. I’ve read viruses generally don’t survive at 86 degrees.

I’d love to get some outdoor furniture. We have one lawn chair which forces one of us to use a metal folding chair when we go outdoors. We’ve always talked about building a deck. Maybe this year.

I’m reading Starless Sea, too. I’m about seven chapters in and I still don’t feel caught up in the story. I will press on.

Starless Sea is slow going for me as well. I think I’m about as far as you are but I need to speed it up since it’s for this month’s book group. If the virus hates high temps we will be sick here forever. Still in the 30’s. In May. 😦

Wow your backyard is beautiful. The grass is sure green despite the recent snow. It is snowing here today in Canada … will try not to send it to you. We just finished Season 6 of Bosch …. it’s a very addictive series. Enjoy your Mother’s Day.

A few weeks ago my son bought me an outside chair/umbrella set. I like sitting outside with my dog when it’s not very humid. Neither one of us does well with heat and humidity. I think I have The Starless Sea on my Kindle.

Happy Mother’s Day, have a great week!

What a gorgeous pic of your back yard! I hope you had a nice Mother’s Day today Stacy. My SIL who lives near me has been in FL for 3 mths and is flying (UGH) home next week. SInce I won’t be able to get close when she gets home, I just dropped off a huge bag of books for her. (I thought is was funny for you, a reader, to say you were running out of books LOL) Have a good week.

Snow on Mother’s Day in central NY was part of what pushed me over the edge almost a decade ago. My family all sent snow photos this weekend, too… So glad to be in Florida now! Happy Mother’s Day to you and I hope you have a good week.
