Last night I attended Avon’s KissCon with this excellent lineup of romance authors – Katharine Ashe, Toni Blake, Shelley Shepard Gray, Linda Howard, Linda Jones, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Ryan and Jill Shalvis.
Once I saw that Susan Elizabeth Phillips was going to be there I bought my VIP ticket so I could hang and drink wine with my new BFF.
Susan is just as sparkly and quick as you might expect if you read her books. I talked to two other authors -neither of which I’ve read, but I brought home books to change that- and both of them flew all the way from California. Jill Shalvis and Jennifer Ryan were both so nice and willing to chat even though I didn’t know anything about them or their books 😉

There was a panel so we could hear from them all and that was lots of fun too.
It was a fun night, but I confess that I felt terrible. I think you can see in those last two pics that I could barely open my eyes because it felt like there was a vise squeezing my head. I’m a little better today but I’m going back to bed for a few hours while Gage is at school.
Love your dress, Stacy! Very festive and pretty. You were so lucky! I’ve read 3 of those authors… I used to read plenty of Linda Howard books back in the day, and one by Shalvis and one by Phillips. That’s an impressive line-up there. I think I would be excited even to meet an author I’ve never read, because writers are my kind of “rock stars”! Thanks for sharing the pics. Hope you feel better today.
I think they’re rock stars too. When I bought the ticket and told my husband he asked how much I’d been drinking because I was so excited 🙂
Jennifer Ryan is from Northern California. And she came to the bookstore I was working at a couple of years ago. She was great. I read her Saved by the Rancher and liked it a lot, as did a good (male!) friend of mine.
Sorry you didn’t feel well. Sounds like a great event.
She was very sweet. I picked up the first book in her Montana men series. Shalvis has a series set in SF but she loves in Tahoe.
Sorry you didn’t feel so well while attending what looked like a fabulous event. I am jealous. Love SEP’s books. I am currently listening to her latest. I am new to Jill Shalvis, you will love her books. I’ve read both Linda Howard and Linda Jones too. Look forward to what you think about Jennifer Ryan’s books. Hope you are feeling better.
I’m a fan of SEP and Shalvis and will now add Jennifer Ryan’s Saved by the Rancher to my GR list. What a fun event but I’m sorry you didn’t feel well.
Super sick today 😦 Too sick to be around people and too sick to read!
Oh no! Hope you can get some good rest.
