Highlights of the week – We had a friend over to play this week (and his mama too). I’m so thankful for the warm weather so that we can do more of this.
I mentioned last week that Gage filled out a March Madness bracket this year for the first time and if he wins he gets a Yes Day. Well after the first two rounds he’s winning, lol. So, we took a look and it all comes down to Gonzaga. If Gonzaga wins the whole thing, I win. If Gonzaga loses any of these last 3 games, Gage wins. Jason is completely out of it. I’m getting nervous about what a Gage Yes Day would entail.
Spent some time at the library doing displays for the Friends ongoing book sale. Always my happy place π

Books finished – You can read my thoughts on all of these books here. So much good reading this week.

Movies

Plans for the weekend – Enjoying time outside. Reading. Cleaning.
I’m linking up with the Sunday Salon
I care a lot was meh for me, we can’t all like the same things π But I’m interested in Yesterday, I fell in love with the English language through the Beatles and I still know a lot of songs by heart. The kids must have had a lot of fun with the prehistoric painting ! Enjoy your week-end π
I get how you feel about I Care A Lot. For the first half an hour I wanted to turn it off. Then I spent the rest of the movie waiting for her to get hers, lol. Yesterday was fun. We listened to the Beatles and Ed Sheeran for at least a day after π
I think this year feels like the spring-iest of springs after a long, long hibernation. I’m glad to see that you and your family are enjoying being outdoors again.
March Madness is being carefully watched among many I love. Two favorites of my extended family are still in it: Baylor and Houston. I did my undergrad and grad work at UH, and some of it was during Phi Slamma Jamma time, so we are hopeful for Houston here.
Have you ever seen R. L. Stine in person? He’s spoken at the Texas Book Festival a couple of times. Completely eerie.
We had fun watching Yesterday. I need some light recommendations like that.
Have a great week, Stacy.
I haven’t met Stine, but this autobiography of his is fun. We’re reading it as a family before bed and we’re all equally entertained. March Madness is delivering on the chaos. The Houston win yesterday gave Jason a small chance to catch me. He and Gage both picked them.
Have a great week Deb!
I would be outdoors today but rain…so just a chill day at home, and I’m okay with that too, especially mentally. Hope the weather is clear for you today.
Yes, gloomy rain here too. And I heard a meteorologist on the news this morning mention the possibility of snow this week π¦
Say it isn’t so. Ugh.
I Care A Lot was good yes! That ending…wow! Seems as if you had some great reading, that always makes for a good week.
We are starting to slowly go into hibernation as autumn is in full swing here in SA. Let’s hope for a few more warmer days.
Have a good week and happy reading!

The ending of I Care A Lot was the whole reason I wanted to continue watching after it made me so mad, lol. Loved it.
Sorry about your upcoming hibernation. Crazy times we’re living in. Have a great week!
As a Beatles fan, Yesterday was fun to watch π Iβm also enjoying Zoeβs Extraordinary Playlist – so fun, and great music!
A childs Yes day is a scary proposition:)
Wishing you a wonderful reading week
Yesterday generated the most discussion and best playlist after watching a movie in a long time! I haven’t seen Zoe’s Playlist yet, so I’ll make a note of it.
I don’t know what’s worse at this point, a yes day or dealing with the dramatic emotions of losing a yes day!
Isn’t it wonderful to be outside again? Our temps are still pretty cool (lower 50s), but it was sunny yesterday, so I spent several hours working in the yard. Today the rain returns, so I’ll putter around inside.
We just finished the first season of Sneaky Pete and loved it! Not sure what we’ll watch next, but we’re going to take a break from SP before watching the second season.
Have a lovely week, Stacy!
I’ve heard good things about SP. We have two squirrels who regularly raid our bird feeder and we call one of them Sneaky Pete. The other one Gage named Sally, hahaha.
I keep noticing I Care a Lot but haven’t watched it yet. I think hubs may enjoy it too, so I’ve waited. Yay for nice weather and good reads π Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week!
Definitely think I Care A Lot is good for husbands too π
How great that Gage was able to play with his friend and that you got to do some fun stuff as well. My husband was disappointed that his Villanova lost yesterday:( Makes no difference to me though so I’m rooting for Gage LOL
I want to read A Burning, it’s been on my list for several months.
Gage is happy to have another supporter, lol. I need to pick up A Burning. I started it, but put it down because I didn’t want to race through it – which happens a lot when you’re reading a book a day – I thought the first few chapters were great,
A Burning has been on my list for quite a while, so I’ll be curious to hear what you think. So great that Gage can be outdoors with his friends… and what a creative project! Have a good week, Stacy.
We’re hoping to build and launch rockets with his friend this weekend π
I’m enjoying the spring weather too I just ready for it to be here to stay (it’s chilly today but lots of sun). I miss library book sales though I don’t really need any more books.
I don’t know when/if we’ll even be able to have a big book sale this year. We’re trying to push for some smaller ones where we set up tables outside, but we haven’t gotten permission yet π¦
Fun! So glad you could have a friend over. That’s so great.
I’m picking Gonzaga! But good luck to Gage π
