Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of our first date. On our first date Jason picked me up after I got home from work at 9:30 and took me to an improv comedy club and afterwards we went to a diner for some food. Tomorrow will be the 17th anniversary of our second date, a dinner after I got off work. In between those dates I had a date with some other guy, but the poor thing never had a chance after I met Jason. Here are a few pictures from that first year together. We look like such kids! I was 24 and Jason was 19 and we were living in the Washington DC area.
Wow, you do look like babies in those photos! I bet the time has flown for the two of you!
It does seem crazy.
You’re the only other person I know that celebrates a first date. My wife and I had our first date 47 years ago this coming October 8. It’s way more fun than celebrating a wedding anniversary.
To be honest, we don’t really celebrate it. Some years one of use remembers weeks after 😉 I think it is very cool that you still celebrate it with your wife.
These pics are sooooooooo cute!
We were cute, right?
Congrats on 17 years… and that you know the date of your first date. My memory isn’t that good. I can narrow it down to a month and year… I doubt my husband even remembers what year!
Leslie, I hope you’re not implying that husbands don’t keep track of these dates. I’ll have you know that I have to remind my wife every year that the date has arrived (I do admit, however, that I write it down on the calendar – just in case I happen to forget!)
You are a great guy! Mine doesn’t keep track of dates except for the biggies like birthdays and our wedding anniversary.
It helps that I keep the calendar!
Well, if neither of you remembers then neither of you can get mad when one forgets 🙂
What Kathy said: wow, you look like babies! LOLOL
I know, I know!
Aww, adorable, especially the fourth one!
We look happy, don’t we?
CONGRATS….how nice.

My Saturday Snapshot
How sweet! You guys look so cute together.
First date photos and memories — how sweet. love the photos.
As the years go by it makes it more of a challenge to remember the details!
So cute! My husband and I celebrated our first date every year until we got married (10 years later) then decided we’d better switch to celebrating our wedding anniversary so we wouldn’t forget when it was.
LOL! The wedding and birthdays are the important ones. All the others at least one, sometimess both, of us will forget!
Soooo cute:)
What great memories.
Those photos are so sweet, you both look like you’re 15 lol. Congrats 🙂
I know! So young.
How lovely to celebrate your first date – I bet most of us can’t remember it! My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/U62WN
(shh, don’t tell anyone but it was also the first anniversary for my other long-term realtionship)
You look like babies! That is so sweet. Happy 17 years!
Thanks! Youth is wasted on the young 😉
You two look like little kids!! So sweet… congratulations 🙂
Well, Jason was a kid, LOL!
How sweet! Love the pics! Doesn’t it seem like a lifetime ago, especially after having children? Our first date was our junior year of high school. You make a great couple and I hope you have many, many more years of wonderful memories! Happy first date anniversary! 🙂
Thanks, Debbie. I always think it’s so great when high school sweethearts stay together. Congrats to you!
Awww, so cute! Happy milestone to you both. 🙂
Aw, what a happy anniversary! And yes, you look so young! 🙂
Oh my gods how cute are you two????
Happy First Date Anniversary. We still celebrate our first date too.
We don’t celebrate. At most a card, but we at least try to acknowledge it.
These are sweet pictures…isn’t it amazing when you look back and you looks so young in those days?!
Amazing and scary!
You both look so sweet! I wanna say..Hi, kiddos!!!
How sweet!! Happy first date anniversary. We don’t celebrate our first date, or even know when it was.
How awesome! I think it’s wonderful that you celebrate moments like this. My husband and I really didn’t date in the traditional sense when we first met, and so it would be hard to pinpoint when our first “date” actually was. We do celebrate the day we decided to become a couple though–it’ll be 22 years this coming September.
Congratulations and may you have many more wonderful years together. 🙂
22 years is amazing! 17 seems so crazy to both of us.
You guys have practically grown up together and now you have beautiful little Gage, wow…congratulations!
I did catch Jason when he was quite young. It was a smart move on my part 🙂
Very sweet photos – and yes, you guys do look young in them! My husband and I started dating 17 years ago too – on the day in between our birthdays. 🙂
Aw, congrats! I do hope Ohio will be kind to you.
Aw!! Happy Anniversary
Very sweet! Happy first date anniversary! 😀
Awwwww! Look at you two!! Adorable. And 17 years later, still going strong, That is wonderful!
We think so 🙂
