Hail to the Chief Quiz

These are all facts I found in the Presidential Leadership book I reviewed yesterday.  The answers are all ex-Presidents.

Here’s how to play…Identify the President and leave a comment with the # and the name and I’ll cross it off the list. No Googling, that’s cheating and no fun!

1.  What two Presidents died on the same day, July 4, 1826?  JOHN ADAMS & THOMAS JEFFERSON, Mark

2. Who was the victim of the first Presidential assassination attempt?  ANDREW JACKSON, Janet

3. Who was the first President born after the adoption of the Constitution, essentially the first President born a U.S. citizen?  JOHN TYLER, Mark

4. Who was our only bachelor President?  JAMES BUCHANAN, Mark

5. First American President to be impeached?  ANDREW JOHNSON, Mark

6. Which President was the author of 35 books?  TEDDY ROOSEVELT, Mark

7. Who was the only President to serve  two terms and then serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court ?  WILLIAM TAFT, Mark

8. Who was the only President never elected either president or vice president?  GERALD FORD, Mark

9. Before he was elected President he had never voted or held an elective office.  ZACHARY TAYLOR, Mark

10.  He was the only President with a doctorate although modern biographers suspect he suffered from dyslexia.  WOODROW WILSON, Mark

1 is Jefferson and Adams (“Jefferson survives.” Uhh, actually . . .
2 is Lincoln (happy note: the DC police officer who was working his security detail that night was fired. And then got his job back. Mrs. Lincoln? Not so happy).
3 is Tyler (thankful for WHH’s longwinded Inaugural address)
4 is Buchanan (though Rachel died before Andrew took office making him a widower President, and Meacham’s bio stunk)
5 is Andrew Johnson (in fairnes, the guy had a tough act to follow)
6 is Teddy Roosevelt, who has one of the oddest memorials in DC (ish)
7 is Taft (also, only President to get stuck in a bathtub, or so we’ve been led to believe)
8 is Ford (replaced Agnew when he resigned, Nixon when he resigned, probably the only way someone who went to that school up North and played for that team could get that job)
9 is ol’ Rough and Ready Taylor (who gave way to Fillmore, zzzz)
10 is Wilson (though Edith gets the credit for the second half of his second term)

Presidents I can do. Fiction–not so much.

I see you fell right into my trap for #2. Ha! Obviously I should have worked a little harder to stump you 🙂 I enjoyed the bonus commentary. Am I going to get to work on your campaign soon?

Hi Staci, thanks for visiting and commenting on my interview with Carolyn Hart. I got a big chuckle out of you thinking your tbr list would get shorter. That is one list you don’t make any headway on. As soon as you take 10 books off the list, you see that you have added another 20. Dare to Die will be featured tomorrow on Teaser Tuesday and hopefully I will have the review done at the same time. A fun series with great characters and plots!

#2 is Andrew Jackson. Sorry, I don’t have Mark’s gift for interesting details, but I believe he was on his way to a funeral. If Mark runs for President I will vote for him!

I’ll show your quiz to my husband; he’s a collector of trivia. Maybe he and Mark could go head to head on another quiz!

    That could be fun 🙂
