Big Boggle Quiz

Here’s how to play…Words are formed from adjoining letters.  (You may not skip over letters) Letters must be in the proper sequence to spell a word.  They may join horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to the left, right or up-and-down.  No letter cube may be used more than once in a single word.

No proper nouns, abbreviations, contradictions, hyphenated or foreign words.

Scoring-Make up to 20 words with at least 3 letters.  If someone else makes the same word you will still get one point.  If you are the only one to find a word you will score how many letters are in that word (3 letters=3 pts, 4 letters=4 pts, etc)

Bonus-There is an author’s name (first and last name connected).  Find it for 2o points.

I love Boggle and have already made my list of 20 words.  The more people who play the more fun it is.  Spread the word :)

Graphic Novels Quiz – guessing closed

So many books are being retold these days, graphic style.  I went to the library and chose 10 graphic books.  The first 6 are classics (one is not a novel).  I accidentally picked up two copies of the same book, one original text and one quick text, SO #10 is the same book as one of the first 9.  Just give me the title of the book it’s based on.

Its leather (TONGUE) would buckle down

The day was dull, the winter drear,

Yet no one seemed to mind.

And everything is still.

To dump a paw on either (SHOULDER),

The old man (DYING)

We know well.

2012 Round One Quiz WINNERS

Round One is officially over and we have a repeat winner…

Nise!! (Under the Boardwalk)

This is Nise’s very impressive 5th win in 8 rounds!    You all need to study up to beat her, LOL!  This round there were 24 participants so she will be receiving a $24 gift card to Barnes & Noble.  Congratulations!

And now for my randomly chosen winner, or maybe I should say Gage’s randomly chosen winner…

Carol M!!

Carol will be receiving a special gift from me just for participating 🙂

Thank you both for playing along with me on Tuesdays and letting me get back to my teaching roots by making quizzes and grading them 🙂

Sorry for the quality of the picture, someone was on his way to bed.

For those who read Gage’s April Fooling post the TRUE statement is that he rocks out to La Bamba.  He has a dog that dances and plays La Bamba when you push its foot.  A surefire way to turn a frown upside down around here is to push the foot and dance around the room with complete abandon.  And that works for the adults too!

What’s Missing Quiz

For this last quiz of the first round of 2012 I want you to tell me what you don’t see.  Tell me the novels that are missing from the library’s shelves by these authors.  Some authors are only missing 1 title, some many more, so you can score more than 100 points 🙂

You have until noon Saturday to submit your answers as a comment.  Comment will be hidden until I post the answers.  No Googling!

LAST WEEK TO PLAY FOR THIS ROUND!!
