A family portrait on a sunny day.

Highlights of the Week  Last week’s Valentine’s Day plans were canceled, but Jason did make me lobster mac & cheese on Sunday IMG_3491 and it was definitely my food highlight of the week!  After not getting to the movie theater since December, I managed two trips this week!

On the Small Screen Survivor Winners at War logo.pngWe’re back into Survivor mode here with a season full of past winners over the last 39 seasons.

Plans This Weekend  Getting the kid healthy is my only goal.  We are lucky to have a good doctor friend who made a house call just before bedtime last night to check on the still sick Gage.  We are seeing a pediatrician this morning and hoping for some help in getting him over this yuckiness.  Please send some good healing vibes.

I’ve linked up with The Sunday Salon this week.

Sending healing vibes to Gage. My grandkids have been sick this winter. 2 tested positive for Influenza A. My daughter is ready for spring, that’s for sure.
    Love the puzzle!

  2. BermudaOnion says:

I hope Gage is back to normal soon.

I thought Just Mercy was really good. Of course, the book is even better and the audio is very well done. I think you and Jason would enjoy it.

Glad to hear Gage has the antibiotics and hope they are starting to kick in for him. The lobster mac and cheese sounds wonderful, although my wife is a vegan so I’d have to find it at a restaurant somewhere unless your husband can send me some? 😉 I did check out your post about Facebook and understand where you’re coming from. My wife and I gave it up last year, but for us it just became too toxic plus a time-waster. But in our case, we keep in contact with family via phone and in person when we can so it’s different for us that it sounds like it is for you.

Jason doesn’t like seafood, but he did try it 🙂 I can find ways around relying on Facebook, but since I don’t live near my family I rely on it to keep me informed. It is both toxic and a time waster for sure and I’m happy that I’m doing it. I find that I’m not missing it like I thought I would. I do find myself on Instagram more, but that’s a much simpler and happier place.

Oh dear. So sorry to hear Gage is still sick. Let’s hope the doctor can help him knock it out.

What did you think of Just Mercy? I read the book, and I’ve heard good things about the movie.

Living a Life that Matters sounds like a book we could all read.

    Have a good week.

I haven’t read Just Mercy but thought movie was so powerful. I highly recommend it. Gage has a sinus infection AND strep throat. He started antibiotics yesterday so hoping for some heling soon.

  5. Yvonne says:

Sorry about the canceled Valentine’s Day plans, but the food looks yummy.

Are you enjoying Survivor? I like seeing the former contestants back once again.

    Have a great week!

Aww, sorry that your son is still sick. For some reason, they take a long time to even get over the hump of whatever hits them. I dread whenever any of my kids gets sick. It takes on average a month for it to pass through, leaving a big wreck of tissue paper, bottles of medicines, and same old bedsheets lying about. Ugh. Sending several good vibes your way.

I’m very interested in the Morning Meditations book on your list. How are you liking it? I’ve been trying to find a good meditations book I can read daily to get through those rough days that come by more often than not.

    • stacybuckeye says:

Thanks for the healing wishes. He’s finally on antibiotics so hopefully that will do the trick. The meditations book is different. The are short, only a page or two, and have different focuses – self awareness, change, health…

I’m glad you got out to the movies! We have been working on a cat puzzle all week too. Just finished the other night. I’m so sorry Gage has been sick. We have been sick basically all of February! I hope he feels better soon and that you both stay healthy as well!
