Fave Pic
Gage started tae kwon do a few weeks ago but Wednesday was the first time I was able to watch. He has a friend in the class and it’s a great workout. He’s the last one on the left.
Highlights of the Week
It was a crazy busy week. It was Catholic Schools Week so I spent time buying and wrapping teacher gifts, helping out at the school wide sundae bar, buying a book for each grade at the Scholastic Book Fair (so fun!), taking a class photo and framing it for Gage’s teachers, and then on another day filling in for teachers during recess and lunch so they could have a relaxing luncheon just for them. I was supposed to work the pizza lunch on Friday too, but since Jason had the day off I sent him 🙂 Jason also had Thursday off and we spent the 10am-8pm on a Cleveland date, doing some shopping, eating and trying new things like this fancy float spa I already raved about it on FB, and I can tell you too that it was so much better than I thought it would be. This was my room and my pod. You shower first, get in and lay in 10 inch water that has over 1000 pounds of epsom salt in it to make you float. Oh, and you pull the door shut, turn off the light and lay there for an hour. I kept the light on and the pod cracked a bit. I made it 50 minutes before I sat up just meditated. Have any of you tried it? I’m looking forward to going back.
New Challenge
This month’s challenge is giving up Facebook for a month. Yikes!

This Weekend I might be coming down with something so I’m hoping to keep it close to home this weekend. We’ll see what kind of fun we can find. What’s going on with you this weekend?
The float pod sounds very interesting. I’ve never done anything like that.
We saw 1917 a few weeks ago and agree it was very well done.
I recommend trying the floating. This place was exceptionally clean which is a must to feel comfortable,
I have some claustrophobia so I’m not sure I could stand it in that pod. I’m glad you loved it!
Well, you could always leave the door completely open. I liked the idea that once they left the room you were completely in charge of your experience.
What an interesting week. You did so much for the children and teachers at school. I know they are grateful. Look at all those great books you are reading. I have a copy of Water-Dancer. I hope I get to it this year.
I’m especially fascinated with your experience in the pod. I enjoy going to the Y early and swimming easy laps. I think I’d like to visit a pod.
I hope you have a great week!
I really was uncomfortable with the idea of the float pod, but I liked that I was in charge of my experience and could adjust to what I wanted. After the first few minutes I had a really nice time.
That fancy float spa sounds amazing, although probably not for me LOL
How great Gage has yet another new activity to try out. I love how involved you are with Gage and his school. BTW- we saw 1917 this week, nothing like what I was expecting – we both loved it.
I was uncomfortable with the idea of the float pod at first, but I liked that I was in charge of my experience and could adjust to what I wanted. After the first few minutes I had a really nice time. I really liked 1917 too. Is it the Best Picture from 2019? I don’t know.
I’ve always wanted to try a float spa, it sounds so peaceful, I wouldn’t even mind the dark, (as long as I don’t think about sharks).
Wishing you a great reading week
Well, any shark that could survive in 10 inch water might not do too much damage. Someone told me after that they have foot baths where you can have little fish in the water that will eat off your dead skin! Yikes.
This was not at the place I went to. He said he’d seen them advertised in Europe.
I bookmarked your post yesterday, and saw “In the pod” and was wondering that was about. Hmmm. I learn something new every day, even at the age of 50. 🙂 Here this weekend, I went to a local state university library and hung out yesterday and read. Today, I’m reading a little at home as it is snowing outside and might go to a neighbor’s for the first half of the Super Bowl. He doesn’t stay up late and neither of us care who wins. It’s just an excuse to get together.
We watched the new Harlan Coben series The Stranger on Netflix during the Super Bowl, lol.
I’ve heard of the float pods and they do come heavily recommended. I haven’t tried one though but it’s on my list. Nothing more bliss than switching off and floating for a good while. I can understand why you would want to go back!
Hope you are able to keep away whatever you may be coming down with. There’s been enough illnesses going around this winter.
It turns out I was just a bit run down and some rest perked me right back up!
I haven’t tried one of the pods but I’ve thought about it. My weekly update
We found the offer on Groupon. It also came with 10 minutes of flavored oxygen after the pod. The whole experience was great.
I’ve never even heard of a float spa, but I am definitely intrigued!! Will be curious to hear what you think of The Water Dancer.
I’m slowly listening in the car, so it’s going to take a while to get through, unless the book comes in the library in time for my book club next week!
I haven’t tried the pod yet but I’ve had a couple of friends who’ve tried it and raved about it. I’d like to try it one day too. I hope you didn’t get too sick this last week! Good luck with your no Facebook challenge this month!
