Oh what is he shopping for? I would love a fancy camera but agree on the brake job – not really a gift but a necessity.
He’s really giving that gift some thought…I sure hope she like whatever he ends up choosing. This book is already on my wish list!
I’ve been wanting to read this book! I loved Stuart O’Nan’s Snow Angels years ago and have A World Away up next for the WWII Challenge. I’ll be back for your thoughts on this one …
I think that’s sweet. Andy gave me a set of tires for my birthday or some such occassion one year. His sisters have never let him live that one down. I however thought it was incredibly romantic because he was so worried about my safety in my old car with the balled tires – it was his way of saying “I love you” at a time when he was shy about that sort of thing.
Gifts are funny that way, some of us want practical things, while others feel like something out-of-the-blue has more meaning!

That’s a great teaser! It reminds me exactly of my father, and what I suppose his thought processes to be like. Sometimes he succeeds in finding that illusive present for my mother, and sometimes he just reverts to the ‘useful.’ It’s got to be hard…so many things going on at once. Good choice!
