First days, Covid, and New possibilities

What to do after a long hiatus, the longest I’ve taken since January 2008 when I wrote my first post here? I’m at a bit of a crossroads. After 3+ years of homeschooling, Gage had his first day back in the classroom this week. I had two full days to decompress and think about what I wanted this year (and beyond) to look like. Then Jason tested positive for covid on Friday morning and we’re in limbo again, waiting to see if Gage and I can skate by without it this time. Jason hasn’t been sick in over 7 years and the man is as healthy as it gets and I think he’s pretty surprised at how sick he is with covid. I guess if we don’t show symptoms I send Gage back to school tomorrow?

I’ve blogged about a lot of things over the years, like being a 39 year old first time mom, movies, homeschooling, and trips we’ve taken, but at its heart this has always been a place to document my love of books and share that passion with other like minded readers. I like having this little piece of the net to do with as I please. I’ve turned to Instagram the last few years too, but that satisfies a different, more immediate itch.

Do I want to continue to blog? My current feeling is yes. I just paid for my site for another year, so I’ve at least commited to that! Do I still want to blog about books? Yes, I think so. Do I want to do something different? Maybe. I’ve got some newfound time to think about the possibilites. Stick with me and we’ll see what happens!

You are at an important crossroads in your life. Those times seem to appear unexpectedly for me. I hope you will continue to blog. I love to hear about the things going on in your life, especially the bookish ones.

I have been blogging for fifteen years now. In the last year, I’ve found myself letting go of doing some things. But I still love to blog and visit blogs—I think I will keep blogging as long as I am enjoying those things.

Like Deb, I enjoy reading your blog and will be here to read about whatever you decide to share. I’ve been blogging since 2006, taking breaks here and there, but I’m pretty consistent now. My focus is pretty much about books and our road trips, so there may be times when it’s a little quiet around here if I’m in the middle of a long book. But I don’t see an end anywhere in the future.

I hope you and Gage dodge the virus, and I hope your husband recovers quickly. We’ve had nonstop visitors this summer, and I’m still amazed that the three of us have never had Covid. We’re either super dodgers or had it without any symptoms. Highly unlikely that all three of us would get so lucky, but who knows.

    Take care!

This is Jason’s first bout, he didn’t get it when Gage and I had it in December, so there’s still a chance it’ll catch up to you 🙂 I REALLY do not want it again. It was awful enough the first time!

I hope Jason gets better soon, and you and Gage don’t get it. This is my first time here, but I can say from what I have read on your blog I have liked. I hope you have a good week 📚🌞💛

Oh dear. COVID. Blah!!!! I am taking a trip to South America in a month and I’m so afraid I’ll get something while en route and wreck the whole trip. Blah! I’ve decided that my blog, is my blog. I write what I want for me. If I don’t conform to what others are doing, oh well. Stick with it for a while or be an intermittent contributor but do it for yourself!

Sorry to hear about Jason and hope he’s better soon. I hope you and Gage stay negative. I’d call the school and see what they say about sending him. There’s a 2 week period where you may have no symptoms. Just my opinion.

So far my son and I have missed it, we both had moderate cases in December. My hubby is on day 7 and stil sounds terrible, although he’s getting some of his energy back. Thanks for the positive vibes!
