Feature Presentation…MONDAY MOVIE MEME
Share on your blog instances of crawly critters and link back to the Bumbles
I don’t like bugs, of any kind. As a kid if I saw a spider after my parents had gone to bed I would leave a note on the door telling my dad where he could find that spider so he could kill it in the morning, LOL 🙂 Anyway, I’m not into bug movies, but I am reading a book right now about the study of moths which brought a couple of movies to mind and then my mind went tot his scene in Avatar
I loved that scene! Yes, I know they aren’t moths, but it’s a good creature so I thought I’d start with that. And now on to one of the moth movies and it’s a good one because we never actually get to see the moth creature. I was creeped out by the movie, but I did get to watch Richard Gere 🙂
And for my last entry I thought I’d go with real moths, like my book. The movie is creepy and sinister.I just watched the first movie made from these Thomas Harris books and saw Brian Cox as the original Hannibal Leckter. If you’re interested it’s Manhunter (1986).
So, did I miss any great movies that featured bugs?
Those are pretty creepy, it sounds like since I haven’t seen any of them! Here’s my list: http://gofita.blogspot.com/2010/02/monday-movie-meme-5-word-movie-weekly.html
I loved the Mothman movie, but hated the book.
I didn’t even realize there was a book! I did really like the movie.
I’m with the other Heather – I don’t do creepy/horror type flicks. Have never seen Silence of the Lambs (or sequels) and do not intend to. *shudder*
that is a creepy movie
I read another good book that had a lot about moths in it “The Sister” by Poppy Adams. It was pretty interesting and had a good twist to it.
That’s the book I’m reading right now! I have about 50 pages left 🙂
That was funny about leaving a note for your dad to kill the spider. You were so considerate. Most kids would just scream until dad came right then and killed the bug.
My mom still has a note or two 🙂
Wow, that Avatar scene looks cool. Really need to go and see that movie. Good choice with Silence of the Lambs, that I never even thought of when I was trying to make my list.
I can’t wait to see Avatar! That picture looks so cool .
I’ve never seen Mothman and I’m curious about it so I’ll have to see if i can find it.
See Avatar in 3D if you can.
I liked A Bug’s Life!! That’s the only kind of bug I like- animated!!!
That was a cool scene!!!
Oooo – I haven’t seen Manhunter. I haven’t read any of the books yet either. Every time I try to check them out of the library they aren’t available. Silence of the Lambs was a perfect choice for bugs!
I haven’t read the books either, but one day I’d like to.
Never heard about Mothman. Loved that scene in Avatar too.
I think I’ve watched Mothman, not sure, but I think I did…
And I love everything about Avatar. 😀
Margot is right – you are, and always have been, very thoughtful. We still have a few of the ‘Yikes, there is a spider on the ceiling by the closet!’ notes that you wrote and taped to your bedroom door. I am creeped out by bugs (and bug movies) too!
You are right, i loved that scene in Avatar. And no I have not watched any of the other movies you have said. And I absolutely hate moths of some kind!
I can’t believe so many of you haven’t seen Silence of the Lambs. I can’t recommend it enough.
